Show-Me the Whiskey: Missouri’s Top 10 Distilleries

For our next installment of Whiskey Class with Jason, we are turning our focus close to home. Guests will learn about the top distilleries right here in the Show-Me State, and we will sample 4 of the best whiskey pours Missouri has to offer. We will cover the history of each distillery, the whiskey we sample and others offered, mash bills, tasting notes, and what characteristics make each whiskey and its distiller unique. A limited food menu will be available during the tasting, and guests can order more drinks from the bar after the initial tasting concludes. Below is a list of the Missouri distilleries we will discuss in the class:

  • Copper Run Distillery (Branson West)

  • Gentry Spirits (Galena)

  • J. Rieger & Co. (Kansas City)

  • Nobletons Distilling House (Union)

  • Ozark Distillery and Brewery (Osage Beach)

  • Restless Spirits Distilling Company (Kansas City)

  • StilL 630 Distillery (St. Louis)

  • Tom's Town Distilling Co. (Kansas City)

  • Ty Iechyd Da Distillery (Springfield)

  • Wood Hat Spirits (Florence)

Our expert instructor, Jason Bauer, has spent the past several years immersed in the world of whiskey, fueled by a fascination with its history, production, and flavor. With a foundation of over 50 specialized classes covering everything from Bourbon to Scotch, he bridges the gap between formal study and the simple joy of a great pour.

As a Registered Dietitian with a background in chemistry and physiology, Jason looks at whiskey through a unique lens. He loves breaking down the science of the glass, from the complexities of fermentation to how our physiology shapes the way we perceive aroma and taste. His goal is to make the technical side of spirits both easy to understand and even easier to enjoy.

Whether you're a seasoned sipper or a beginner looking to learn the art of tasting whiskey, this class will teach you how to expand your skills and impress your friends.
